This work is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Kaneshige.
Habaki:Silver foiled double Habaki.

Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.645 cm (0.25 in)
Shape:Slightly thick kasane, with bohi and futasuji-hi carved on both sides.
The mune is mitsumune (triple ridged).
Jigane:A fine and dense steel with a faint utsuri appearing.
Hamon:Nioi-based straight hamon with partial double hamon and some utsurige.
The boshi appears like yakitsume style.
Aoi Art’s Comment: This tanto, made in August of Oei 7 (1400), is an exceptionally fine work with excellent jigane.
It is rare to find Yamato works from the Oei period, and this piece is notable for its beautiful jigane.
A rare tanto with a dated inscription “August, Oei 7.”
