This work is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works signed Kishu Monju Shigekuni Kore Wo Tsukuru.
Habaki: Double gold-covered Habaki.
Blade Length: 51.21 cm (20.16 in).
Curvature: 1.21 cm (0.48 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.84 cm (1.12 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.02 cm (0.80 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.54 cm (0.21 in).
Sword Weight: 485 grams.
Era: Edo period, around Meireki era (1655-1658).
Shape: Wide width, slightly thick Kasane, extended Kissaki, with rather deep curvature, creating an excellent overall shape.
Jigane: Darkish steel with a beautiful forging surface.
Hamon: Nie-deki, Gunome Midare. The Nioiguchi is rather deep, with Sunagashi and Kinsuji activities. The Boshi has a deep Nioiguchi and turns back in a rounded manner.

Features: The 1st and 2nd generation Monju Shigekuni produced excellent works using superior dark-colored steel and were ranked as Saijyo Saku smiths. An interesting point of this work is that the Mekugi Hole is larger than usual. The deep Nioiguchi gives this blade great charm.

Tsuba: Oval iron Tsuba engraved with a landscape design and decorated with gold-colored inlay.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo Nanako ground engraved with plum blossoms and eaves, decorated with gold-colored inlay.
Saya (Scabbard): Black Ishimeji Saya.
Menuki: Design of rabbits pounding mochi under the moon and birds, in high relief with gold-colored decoration.
Kozuka: Shakudo Nanako ground with two crabs in high relief and gold-colored decoration.
Kogatana included: Signed Hida no Kami Fujiwara Ujifusa.
