Era: Edo period, 1866.
Shape: Slightly wide mihaba with deep curvature and an extended kissaki, creating a well-balanced and impressive shape.
Jigane: Nie deki with gunome midare, forming a deep and soft nioiguchi.
Hamon: Nie deki with gunome midare and a deep nioiguchi, with sunagashi and kinsuji working within the ha.
The boshi has a deep nioiguchi and is midarekomi.
Features: Takemura Tsunejiro was a swordsmith of the Tsuyama domain in Sakushu and a distinguished student of Hosokawa Masayoshi.
He lived in Fukagawa, Edo, and specialized, like his master, in juka-choji style.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round iron tsuba carved with two jewels, the rim covered with shakudo fukurin.
Menuki: Carved design of a dragon with gold iro-e decoration.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo ground carved with a dragon design and finished with gold iro-e.
Saya (Scabbard): Kizami saya.

The restoration of political authority to the Emperor.
On October 14, 1867, Tokugawa Yoshinobu, the 15th shogun of the Edo shogunate, offered to return governing authority to the Imperial Court, and on the following day, October 15, the court accepted it.
This marked the end of samurai government that had continued for approximately 700 years since the Kamakura shogunate.
