A round iron tsuba featuring an openwork (ji-sukashi) depiction of the famous Dōjōji legend, executed in raised carving (nikubori) on the iron plate.A characteristic feature of Echizen tsuba is their bold nikubori-sukashi (raised openwork), in which the iron plate is carved in relief to create a strong three-dimensional effect.
