Hizen Kuni Dewa no Kami Yukihiro.
The signature includes the character "Ichi" at the beginning, and the inscription indicates that it was made in the 6th year of Enpō (1678) and was dedicated to the Grand Shrine.
This piece is a representative masterpiece of the first-generation Yukihiro, showing outstanding craftsmanship.
Despite its long length, it displays no flaws in either the steel or the temper line, a point especially worth noting. A highly prized sword.

Shape : Shinogi-zukuri, Iori-mune, This blade is wide and thick Katana with deep Sori and rather long.
Jitetsu : Ko-itame-hada with much jinie attach.
Hamon : Niedeki Notare and Gunome midare are mixed with Ashi, Yo work and deep Nioikuchi. In Ha, there are Sunagashi and a little Tobiyaki work.
Special feature : Yukihiro was a swordsmith of Hizen province. He was the Second son of Hashimoto Yoshinobu. Yukihiro got the title of Dewa Daijo in 1648 and ranked up to Dewa (No) Kami in 1663. He went to Nagasaki to learn under Hisatsugu and Tanenaga who were well informed about western steels brought by the Dutch. Later he became a retained swordsmith of the Nabeshima family and lived in Nagase town. He passed away in 1683, aged 66.
This blade was made as Honoto (dedication to the god of the shrine).
This blade is quite healthy and fantastic without kizu and flow.
The Dai-jingu is the popular name for "Ise shrine (This shrine is in Ise-cho, Saga city)". That origin is that Nabeshima Naoshige pray for his heir and has a baby boy. That boy was Nabeshima Katsushige. He became a first Saga domain head.
This gigantic sword was made and dedicated to the shrine Enpo 6 Feb(1678).
The blade is huge without kizu and flow.
