Norimitsu was a swordsmith lineage that continued from the late Kamakura period to the end of the Muromachi period. Judging from its shape and the manner in which the tachi-mei is engraved, this work is considered to be an early Muromachi period piece. It is a work in which the activities of the jigane can be thoroughly appreciated. The habaki can be finished in gold or shakudo-style coloring upon request.
