Description:
This kozuka is made of shakudō nanako-ji and is decorated with a finely executed high-relief design of a biwa plectrum beneath bamboo blinds illuminated by the moon, enhanced with beautifully applied colored metal inlays (iroe). The composition displays the refined elegance and superb craftsmanship for which the Gotō school is renowned.

Teijo was the 9th head of the main Gotō family, one of the most prestigious lineages of Japanese sword fitting artisans serving the Tokugawa shogunate.
