Shape: Slightly wide mihaba, solid kasane, somewhat deep curvature, and a slightly extended kissaki.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada producing a fine and refined jigane.
Hamon: Nie-deki, starting with suguha from the edge and then becoming gunome midare. The boshi turns back in a round form.

Features: Shinto: Wazamono: Jyo Saku: Settsu. Kawachi no Kami Fujiwara Kunisuke was a swordsmith from Ise. He studied under Horikawa Kunihiro in Kyoto, and after Kunihiro’s death, he worked in Osaka together with the first-generation Kunisada of the same school, greatly influencing Osaka swordsmithing. Based on his style, it is said that his effective teacher was Echigo no Kami Kunisato of the same lineage. Many of his works resemble those of the first-generation Kunisada with a ko-mokume hada.

Historical Background: Around the Kanei era, inscriptions were often carved with a distinctive and elegant style of characters.
