Appraisal Quiz #918

Previous answer is
Signature: Yamashiro no Kami Fujiwara Kunikane (Second Generation)
山城守藤原国包

Features: The first and second generations of Kunikane are particularly renowned for their tightly forged masame hada, which is the hallmark of the school. The workmanship evokes the distinctive masame forging seen in Kamakura-period blades, suggesting that Kunikane intentionally sought to emulate the style of the Hōshō school. The beautifully forged masame hada is truly outstanding. The deep nioiguchi, active kinsuji, and richly varied suguha combine with the exceptional jigane to create a blade of remarkable freshness and quality.
