An'ei Hachi nen Inoshishi Hachi-gatsu 安永八年亥八月
(Dated August, An'ei 8, Year of the Boar, 1779)

Features: Sasshu ju Masayoshi was a Satsuma swordsmith and a disciple of Masachika.
In Kansei 1 (1789), he received the honorary title of Hoki no Kami and changed his name to Masayuki.
He died in Bunsei 2 (1819) at the age of 87.
This blade is illustrated in Kozu Haku Oshigata, p.1093.

Curvature: 0.79 cm (0.31 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.27 cm (1.29 in).
Width at Yokote: 1.92 cm (0.76 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.67 cm (0.26 in).
Sword Weight: 765 g.
Shape: A katana with a wide mihaba, slightly thick kasane, shallow curvature, and a slightly elongated kissaki.
Jigane: Fine ko-itame hada forming a refined and high-quality steel surface.
Hamon: Nie-deki suguha with a deep nioiguchi and active ashi, bright and clear in appearance. The boshi returns in a rounded form.
