This blade is ranked as Jo-saku among the works of Yoshisuke (Shimada).
Habaki: Single-layer silver-covered habaki.

Curvature: 0.9 cm (0.35 in).

Era: Late Muromachi period, around the Tenbun era (1532-1555).
Shape: Substantial kasane with sakizori curvature.
A bohi is carved into the blade.
Jigane: Fine ko-itame hada, tightly forged into excellent quality steel.
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare.
The hamon contains abundant sunagashi and kinsuji, with a distinct double temper line.
The boshi returns slightly pointed.
The blade clearly demonstrates the excellence of the Soshu tradition.

Features: Shimada Yoshisuke was a swordsmith of Suruga Province whose works strongly reflect the Soshu tradition, making him a highly regarded and popular smith. Yoshisuke produced works in the Soshu-den style, with highly active hamon featuring prominent kinsuji and dynamic hataraki throughout the blade.

Tsuba: Mokko-shaped brass tsuba carved with a dragon design.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo ground.
Saya (Scabbard): Aogai-chirashi saya.
Menuki: Plant motifs carved on shakudo ground.
Kozuka: Shakudo nanako ground with a phoenix design in high relief, highlighted with gold iroe.
