This work is ranked as Jyo Saku for Mumei (Kikuchi Yari).
Habaki: Silver double habaki.
Blade Length: 18.7 cm (7.36 in).
Curvature: 0 cm (0 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 1.80 cm (0.71 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.92 cm (0.36 in).
Era: Around Bunan era (1444).
Shape: A very rare shape referred to as Kikuchi Yari.
Many such works were made around the Kikuchi area of Kumamoto in Kyushu.
Similar works can also be seen in the lineages of Oishi Sa and Enju.
Jigane: Fine ko-itame hada tightly forged to produce a beautiful jigane.
Hamon: Suguha with a soft nioiguchi, slightly undulating deeply with various activities within the temper line.

Features: Kikuchi Yari were spears made by the Enju school for the Kikuchi clan, who were active in Higo Province during the Nanbokucho period.
They are said to have been attached to the tips of long bamboo poles for use.
In addition to the Enju school, the Naminohira school of Satsuma also produced similar constructions.
This work is believed to date from around the Bunan era (1444).
