Hamon: nie-deki gunome-midare with abundant nie, a deep, bright, and thick nioikuchi, thick ashi, and kinsuji and sunagashi throughout.

The Hōjōji school was active around the Kanbun era of the Edo period. Tachibana Masateru studied under Masahiro and is regarded as one of the more skillful swordsmiths within the school.
This work features a thick Nioikuchi with thick ashi activities in the hamon, reminiscent of Kotetsu.
