Can I take the sword overseas immediately after purchase?
No.
An export permit (Antique Art Export Inspection Certificate) issued by the Agency for Cultural Affairs is required, and the process usually takes about 5 weeks.
If you already know your travel dates and the item you wish to take item(s) to your country, please contact us in advance.
If we are informed about two months ahead, we can generally accommodate the request.
Restoration, Appraisal, and Evaluation
Do you offer polishing or restoration services for swords I already own?
In principle, we do not accept such requests.
For swords purchased from Aoi Art, we may consider requests depending on the circumstances.
We appreciate your understanding.
Can you make a new koshirae for a sword currently for sale?
Yes, but only for swords purchased from Aoi Art.
The work will be commissioned through external craftsmen or workshops associated with us, and all arrangements will be handled via Aoi Art.
If you wish to communicate directly with the craftsmen, we will provide details after purchase.
Estimated completion time: approximately 7 months or more
Estimated cost: around JPY 150,000–200,000 (excluding fittings)
Can you judge the authenticity of a signature from photographs?
No. We can't.
Can I send a sword located overseas to Aoi Art for appraisal, evaluation, or purchase?
If the sword can be physically examined by us, we can provide an appraisal or evaluation.
If you wish to sell back a sword originally purchased from Aoi Art, please contact us with the original ordering number.
Sale / Order
I want to buy a sword but cannot pay the full amount immediately. Do you offer installment payments?
Yes, installment payments are available.
A deposit of at least 20% of the item price is required, with the remaining balance to be paid within 3–4 months.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

- Every new item is uploaded on this page for one week.
2. Aoi Art item listings
- If items uploaded on the Auction site are not sold, we sell them on this site at the starting price.
I found third party archives. Can I order an item?
No. You contact us through email or our listings(item page).
Other
Can you send me photos of the registration certificate?
In principle, we do not provide such photos.
They will be sent after payment has been confirmed.
Do you use WhatsApp or other calling/messaging apps?
No.
All inquiries must be made by email.
We may not be able to respond if contacted through other platforms.
