Features: An iron tsuba with openwork carving of gourds oriented in four directions. The Shoami were a school of metalworkers based in Kyoto that flourished from the late Muromachi period to the end of the Edo period. Works from the early period are referred to as Ko-Shoami (Old Shoami).
