The blade was polished.
Habaki: single copper habaki.
Blade length : 46.5 cm or 18.30 inches.
Sori :1.0cm or 0.39 inches.
Width at the hamachi:2.86 cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.19cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.63 cm or 0.24 inches.
The weight of the sword: 470 grams.
Era: Edo period around Jokyo era.
Shape: Regular width and thickness Wakizashi.
Jigane: Koitame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
The Jigane is beautiful.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha with thick Nioikuchi and Gunome Midare.
Boshi is Togari gokoro.
Special feature: Yamashiro Daijyo Kunishige is the brother of Otsuki Yogoro Kunishige. Because he was active at Edo Mizuta.
Mizuta school is a swordsmith group that has moved to Bingo at Muromachi Period. The school eventually divided to
Dai Ygoro Kunishige and Kouno school.
Both are Nie-Deki with deep nioiguchi. It is suguha style Notare
and there is a mixture of Gunome Midare Hamon.
Both are Soshuden style active work.
Saya : Dark brown Ishime-Ji Saya.
Tsuba: Mokko shape iron Tsuba, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Menuki: Leaves are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo Ishimeji, the flower is engraved with gold color.
Kozuka: Gourds are engraved with gold color.
From Aoi Art: Yamashiro Daijo Minamoto Kunishige was a younger brother of Otsuki Yogoro Kunishige. He was active in Edo. So he was also called Edo Mizuta. Mizuta school moved to Bingo in Muromachi period.
