Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 49.7 cm or 19.56inches.
Sori 0.9cm or 0.35inches.

Width at the Kissaki : 0.9 cm or 0.35inches.
Kasane : 0.72cm or 0.28 inches.

Era : Edo period, Kanbun era((1661-1672)
Shape : The blade is broad and thick, Sori is deep and Kissaki is slightly longer.
Jigane :Koitame-hada well grained, Jinie attached to be a beautiful Osaka Jigane.
There is Tateware near Habakimoto.
Hamon :Niedeki Suguha from Hamachi, and after elegant Choji-midare, and ends with
his speciality; Fist-Choji-midare.

Special feature:Kawachi Kami Fujiwara Kunisuke was born in Ise and originally his family name was Kobayashi, and he became a pupil of Kunihiro with his father Kunisada. From his style, it is common to estimate that he is Kunitomo, also a pupil of Kunihiro. Kunisuke and Kunisada were very close and their works are quite similar. This work has no difference to the works of Kunisada. Besides, Kunisuke 1st generation is supposed to be born in Ise, Kobe and originally a swordsmith from Ishido school, and indeed, there is Choji-midare in the works at Hachu.

Koshirae :
Tsuba: Round shaped copper Tsuba, the rim is covered by Shakudo, lines are engraved
like Amida, family crest and red leaves are engraved.
Fuchi:Shakudo-Nanako plate, family crest is engraved with gold color.
Kashira:Tsuno
Saya :Dark brown Saya, Aogai-chirashi with patterns engraving.
Menuki :Shakudo plate, flowers are engraved with gold color.
Kogatana: Mei(signature) is Jumyo.
Kogai:Warekogai:Shakudo plate, Ajiro-patterns are engraved, family crest is engraved
with gold and Shakudo.

From Aoi Art:This is a typical work from Kawachi Kami Kunisuke 2nd generation with great Fist-Choji. It is very unfortunate that we have vertical Kitae-kizu near Habaki-moto on the front. Koshirae is a great dark brown Aogai-chirashi with beautiful metal fittings, supposed to be a possession of a Samurai with a high status. Tsuba is also a great piece of art. A masterpiece by Kawachi Kami Kunisuke 2nd generation with a wonderful Koshirae, which we truly recommend for you.
