Special feature:t is said that Yamato Daijyo Masanori the First was descended from Sanjo Yoshinori.
Yoshinori was the representative swordsmith of Yamashiro province in the middle Muromachi period.
Masanori was born at Miyazu in Tango province and learned under his father Norimitsu.
Masanori lived in Kyoto for a period of time and moved to Echizen province, present Fukui prefecture.
He worked as a retained swordmisth of the Matsudaira family, a near relation of the Tokugawas.
Masanori’s swords are ranked at Ryowaza-mono among the Shin-to.
