The blade is polished.
Habaki : Gold double foiled Habaki.
Blade length : 38.31 cm or 15.08 inches.
Sori : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.89cm or 1.13 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.61 cm or 1.02 inches.
Kasane : 0.72cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period Meio era. (1492-1501, about 5 hundreds years ago)
Shape The blade is wide and thick longer healthy blade.
On the Ji, Gomabashi and Bonji and also chain are engravrd.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attached blackish attractive Jigane.
Hamon : Nie-deki Suguha with double Hamon and Kissaki is Togari Hamon and turns back.
Special feature : The finder of the Tomotsugu started from Nanbokucho period to late Muromachi period.
This sword belongs to Meiou era at Ecchu province.
The Jigane is wonderful well grained blackish Hokkoku Jigane.
Unusual Chain and Bonji are religious symbols which sometimes we can see on see Hizen swords.
Tsuba : Clam shells carved on Mokko style Sgakudo nanako plate
with gold color and waves are engraved. Such Tsuba are called ‘Sanmai’ (Kagamishi) Kokinko Tsuba.
Saya : Pine needles styke Aogai Chirashi.
Kojiri : Family crests are carved on Shakudo plate.
Menuki : Kirimon (paulownia crests) are carved on Shakudo plate with gold color.
