This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo sakuranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 34.5 cm or 13.6 inches.
Sori : 0.6 cm or 0.24 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.72 cm or 1.07 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.224 inches.
Weight of the blade : 270 grams
Era : Edo period, 5th of Ansei era(1859)
Shape : The width and length are suitable. it has noticeable Saki-zori and Ububa remains.
Jigane : Blackish Jigane, well grained small Itame-hada. There’s an Umegane about 10cm above the Hamachi.
Hamon : Straight Yakidashi, the rest of the Hamon is Gunome-midare with deeper Nioi-kuchi. Fine Sunagasi and Kinsuji present around the middle of the sword.
Boshi : Pointed Maru, deeper Kaeri,
Special Feature : Soshu-ju Tsunahiro’s real name was Sozaburo.
He was active around the Muromachi period, Tenbun era and succeeded through 14 generations until the late Edo period in Sagami province.
His style is typical of Soshu tradition, some sword collectors of the time might have supported him.
Saya : Black roiro Saya with the rabbits, the phoenixes and the flowers.
Tsuba : Iron Tsuba with the openwork bat and the gold-painted Kanji character.
Menuki : Shakudo Menuki with the flower basket design.
Kozuka : Shakudo Kozuka with the flag design. It looks old, may be made around the end of Muromachi period.
Kogatana : The signature reads Suishinshi Masahide(not guaranteed).
