Oumi no Kami Fujiwara Tadahiro, son of the first generation Tadayoshi, learned swordsmithing techniques and continued the lineage after his father's passing in Kan'ei 9. The first generation Tadayoshi had many disciples, and the second generation continued the legacy, leading to prosperity with the support of these disciples. Receiving the title of Oumi no Kami in the 18th year of the Eiwa era, he practiced swordsmithing for 60 years. Producing a considerable number of swords, especially the Upper Excellent Work by the second generation Tadahiro was favored by many sword enthusiasts, a testament to its popularity. He passed away at the age of 81 in the 6th year of Genroku. His disciples included the third generation Mutsu no Kami Tadayoshi, Harima no Kami Tadakuni, Kawachi no Kami Masahiro, and Dewa no Kami Yukihira. Supported by the Nabeshima Clan, they monopolized the distinctive Hizen jigane, prevented its distribution, and maintained their unique metal composition.
From Aoi Art: This work by Oumi no Kami Fujiwara Tadahiro showcases both straight and undulating patterns. Notably, the deeply undulating choji hamon is exquisite, with a soft hamon edge that imparts a sense of flexibility when cutting.
