This sword belongs to Jojo saku ranking.

The blade is polished by good polisher.
Habaki : Gold wrapped double Habaki.
Blade length : 43.2 cm or 1.70 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the Hamachi : 2.86 cm or 1.13 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.18 cm or 0.89 inches.
Kasane : 0.94 cm or 0.37 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era (17th century)
Shape : The blade is regular thickness and width with rather deep curve and long Kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach and small Chikei work. Beautiful Hizen konuka hada is typical blade forged by Tadahiro the 2nd generation.
Hamon : Niedeki mid Suguha with thick Nioikuchi is rermarkable. Boshi tunes round shape with deep Nioikuchi.

Special feature : Secular name of Tadahiro the second generation is Heisakuro Hashimoto. Ge is a legitimate son of Tadayoshi the first generation.
Tadahiro was only 19 years youth when his father passed away at 1632. But he was already enough skillful to forge swords at that ages.
Tadahiro designated the Omi-Daijo in 1641, aged 29 and continued not only forging sword but also supervised many pupils until his death in 1693, aged 80. He is known as a skillful swordsmith almost all works are above the standard Hizen-to. He had been made sword for a long period of time to leave the largest number of swords in the swordsmiths of Hizen school. He was good teacher and great master.
He was skilled on both of Suguha and Choji-midare Hamon. Especially the beauty of Jitetsu called Konuka-hada is appreciated as the best among the Hizen-to. His swords are ranked at the Owaza-mono because of the sharpness.

Menuki : An Japanese table orange carved on Shakudo plate with gold color.
