This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
habaki: Copper double Habaki.
The blade was polished.

Blade length: 45.0 cm or 17.71 inches.
Sori: 1.4cm or 0.55 inches.

Width at the hamachi: 3.23cm or 1.27 inches.
Kasane: 0.71cm or 0.27 inches.

Shape: Wide andstout Wakizashi, The shape is Nagamaki Naoshi style.
Jigane: Ko Itame Hada well grained. The texture can be seen clearly.
Hamon: Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with Ko Ashi.There are Sunagashi and Kinsuji. Boshi is pointed and turn back.

Era: early Edo period around Kanei era,early 17th century.
Feature: Oshu Aizu Ju Nagakuni studied under his uncle Teruhiro.
He moved to Yoshu Matsuyama and became a vasseal of the Kato family.Later, he moved to Aizu. He passed away on June 18, Kanei 8(1632) at the age of 55. His style is similar to Miyoshi Nagamichi. Miyoshi Nagamichi was a son of Nagakuni, and Miyoshi Nagamichi may have imitated his work.

From Aoi Art: Oshu Aizu Ju Nagakuni later became a renowned Aizu Swordsmith. It is difficult to create such a sturdy work. We higly recommend this Wakizashi.
