Kaei 5 Nen shi 8 gatsu (August 1853)

Shinshinto: Chu Jyo Saku: Shonai.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : gold color single habaki(it might be solid gold 22grams).
Blade length:  31.2 cm or 12.28 inches.
Sori : 0.5 cm or 0.19 inches.
Mekugi:  1
Width at the hamachi : 2.65 cm or 1.04 inches.
Kasane :0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Edo period Kaei era.1853.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with small sori
Jigane :itame hada well grained with jinie attach and visible to see the texture well.
Hamon :Niedeki suguha with soft nioikuchi.

Special feature: Oizumi Ju Kazunao was lived in Shonai province.
His name is Sato Heshiro. His work is similar to Suishinshi Masahide.
This blade is what is called a Hadamono. The well grained Jigana with bright Suguha Hamon. The Nioikuchi is soft.
Boshi is small rounded shape.

Koshirae :
Saya : black color ishime ji saya.
Tsuba :On the brass hamidashi Tsuba,
flying swallows are engraved with gold color.
Menuki : Gourd is engraved by copper plate.
(in Japan, people put Saku inside of dried guard)
Kozuka:on the syakudo plate, a dragon is engraved
Kogatana:Unsyu Jyu Daiminkin.
Fuchikashira: on the brass plate, flowers are engraved.
