Special feature:The Ichimonji School had been prospered
in Bizen province from early Kamakura to Namboku-cho period.
It is known as one of the two greatest swordsmith groups of Bizen.
The Ichimonji school is divided broadly into four categories
classical Ko-Ichimonji in the early years, brilliant Fukuoka-Ichimonji
in the middle period, the Yoshioka-
Ichimonji andYoshioka Ichimonji and later period
and the Katayama-Ichimonji ,Syocyu Ichimonji Many excellent
swordsmiths participated actively in that period and it is thought
that Norimune was the founder of Ichimonji School.
The name “ichimonji” is derived from the Chinese character “ichi”
to symbolize their signature which means one or the first.
Some of swordsmithes used another Chinese characters to indicate the signature.
Clear midare-utsuri on the jitetsu and brilliant
choji-midare hamon make the truly attractive sword.
This katana was judged as Yoshioka-Ichimonji school.
The representative swordsmiths were Sukemitsu, Sukeyoshi and Suketsug

From Aoi Art: At a glance, the blade looks Fukuoka Ichimonji
but the Hamon is rather calm not very active like Fukuoka Ichimonji.
so the blade was judged as Yoshioka Ichimonji.
The sayagaki was done by Dr.Kunzan sensei.
Recently it is very hard to obtain Ichimonji school especially
Fukuoka and Yoshioka both ichimonji.
We recommend this sword for you and enjoy the Jigane,
Utsauri and inside of active Cyoji midair hamon and Kinsuji.
Your eyes will be improving a lot.
