This Hitachi Kami Mune (shige) belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Double silver habaki.
Blade length : 49.4 cm or 19.44 inches.
Sori : 0.8 cm or 0.31 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.76 cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.97 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Kanbun era.
Shape : Suriage (about 6cm) and Machiokuri Wakizashi.
Regular width and thickness Wakizashi.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. It is beautiful Osaka Jigane.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with thick Nioikuchi. The Habuchi is soft.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and fin Kinsuji.
Boshi is round shape with thick Nioikuchi.
Special feature: Muneshige was a swordsmith who lived in Settsu
province in about Kanbun era(about 1661) .
He was called Tada Uhe, and he studied under Tsuda Sukehiro.
At first, he was allowed to engrave “Hitachi Daijo”,
and he was allowed to engrave “Hitachi no kami.”
He made some swords with also Nanban-Tetsu.
This blade has nice Gunome Midare with thcik Nioikuchi.
Unfortunately this blade is Suriage. But this blade is kind of his masterpiece.

Tsuba: silver, Satsuma Domain family crest is engraved.
Fuchikashi and Kojiri: silver, Satsuma Domain family crest is engraved.
Saya : reddish brown Ishime-Ji Inro Kizami Saya.
Menuki : Samurai is engraved.
Kozuka: silver, Satsuma Domain family crest is engraved.
