This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking.

The blade is polished.
Habaki : Single copper Habaki
Blade length : 51.0 cm or 20.1 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 1 
Width at the hamachi : 3.14 cm or 1.24 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.33 cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period after Kanei era (1634~)
Shape : Sinogi-Dukuri style with standard balanced width, thickness, curve and Kissaki.
Jigane : Ko-Mokume-hada well grained with Jinie attach. Typical Hizen Mellifluous Konuka-hada.
Hamon : Niedeki Mokume-hada well grained with many Koashi, Sunagashi work well.

Special feature : Harima Daijo Fujiwara Tadakuni is a son of Hizen Yoshiie.
He received the post of Harimadaijo by Daimyo at Kanei 11th (1634). He become Harima-kami (chief officer position) after several years.
Tadakuni was skilled on both Suguha and Midare Hamon.
There are some minor Kizu near by Kissaki on this blade.
From angle of Kizu, I feel this is not Kitae-ware but used hard at the the battle of Boshin war or after. If you are looking for a blade with a proof of battle, we recommend this nice Hizen Wakizashi.
