Feature: The way of fighting has changed since the Muromachi period, from fighting on horseback to fighting on the ground, and one-handed swords, which are easier to swing, became popular. This sword is a typical example of such a sword with a slightly short Nakago, deep Sori, and long Kissaki.

From Aoi Art: Bishu Osafune Katsumitsu is a highly popular swordsmith who is regarded as one of the best in Bizen. His works existed from Bunmei to Entei, and he was also active in Heian Castle Mimasaka, Kojima, and Bicchu. It is thought that the period in which he was active had a very high quality metal, and this sword also has beautiful Jigane with utsuri. The signature are carefully cut, indicating that it was specially made. The engraving is also skillful.
