(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :gols wrapped double habaki.
Shape(Sugata):The blade is rather wide and thickwith small sori and longer
kissaki which is called Kanei style.
Blade length(nagasa) : 48.2 cm or 19 inches.
Sori :0.8cm or 0.315 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi :2.98 cm or 1.17inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.25 cm or 0.89 inches.
Kasane : 0.62cm or 0.244 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick
with small sori and long Kissaki
which looks like Kanei era style.
Kitae :Koitame hada and small masame mixes
with jinie attach beautiful nice texture.
Hamon :Noedeki wavy temper line with ashi
and rather thick nioikuxhi.
Boshi:Round Togari shape with hakikake.

Special feature: First generation Yasutsugu was born at Oumi province
and moved to Echizen province. Tokugawa Shogun’s order,
he made swords for this Syogun Ieyasu.
He was permitted to cut the Aoi moon(family crest of Aoi Tokugawa family
and also received the name of Yasu(one of the charatoer of Tokugawa Ietasu)
This sword is 3rd generation Yasutugu which was made at Echizen province.
For making swords, Yasutsugu used Nanbantetsu(western steal
which was made at Holland ) which was very precious.
I think he made swords mixed with western steal and Japanese Tamahagane.
Nanbantetsu is not clear jigane and dark deep gray color
but cut well sword after mixed with Japanese Tamahagane.
The price is quite reasonable. We recommend this sword.

Koshirae :
Saya :black roiro saya.
Tsuba :Syakudo mokko style tsuba.
Menuki : family crest is engraved with gold color. (middle Edo period.)
Fuchikashira:On the syakudo nanako plate,
family crests are engraved with gold color.

From Aoi Art : 3rdYasutsugu wavy temper line sword like Yasusada.
The blade is healthy and also nice Koshirae.
Probably high ranking samurai hold this wakizasi.

Historical background: At Kanbun era, Tokugawa Ietsuna 4th generation controlled Japan.
Keian era 1651 to Enpo era(1680)
But after Iemitsu 3rd generation passed away, revolution occurred by Yui Syosetsu
and Marubashi Cyuya but failed which means politically-unstable era.
