Features: Smooth iron tsuba with inlaid carving of chrysanthemums and insects. It is said that the technique of flat inlaying, in which metal is inlaid perfectly into the grooves of the base, developed in Kaga under the patronage of Kaga feudal lord Maeda Toshinaga. This work is a gorgeous piece made by combining various different metals and inlay techniques.
