(To celebrate Mr. Kato Yosuke’s birth, his grand father Kato Kenji
ordered this Tanto from So Tsutomu.
And this blade was made on January 6th,1987.)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 24.8 cm or 9.76 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.34 cm or 0.92 inches.
Kasane : 0.63 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Showa era. (January 6th,1987)
Shape : This blade is rather massive and healthy shaped Tanto with Takenoko-zori.
Jitetsu : Ko-itame works very well with much Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie based, Gunome midare and Togari-ba and Ko-gunome mix.
Nioikuchi is very wide.
There are many Ashi, and some Sunagashi in Ha.
Boshi is Midarekomi and tight peak.

Koshirae: Aikuchi Koshirae
Menuki: On Shakudo plate, flower basket is engraved with colors.
Saya: Golden Nashiji Saya
Fuchikashira: made of Tsuno

Special feature: So Tsutomu is a famous gendai swordsmith of Fukuoka pref in Kyushu. He was born in 1927 and learned under his father So Masamitsu. So Tsutomu got many prizes at the annual sword making contests and was approved Mukansa-tosho. He modeled Kiyomaro or Sukehiro very well.

This blade’s Hamon of both sides are almost same, and there are many Ashi. It’s very active Hamon and high quality copy of Kiyomaro. Especially Nioikuchi is very wide.
