Kasane:0.63cm or 0.24inches.

Era: Bunkyu 2, the Edo period
Shape: The shape is like Naginata. The backside is Shinogi-tsukuri, which has two-lined engraved Hi. Very rare.
Jigane: Komokumehada is grained well with Jinie. Beautiful Jigane.
Hamon: Niedeki Gunome becomes Chojimidare.
Special Feature: Apparently it looks like a work by Yokoyama school, good Mokume Hamon. We suppose this sword smith had quitted forging because of the Haito Edict.
From Aoi Art: This shape is called “Kanmuri Otoshi” and had been made from the Kamakura period. In the Edo period, Gassan Sadakatsu made this kind of works often. Kaku Yoshitsugu means, as a place, Nakatsu city in Oita prefecture, but it is uncertain that he was from there. In any case, it is a well-made odd piece of art.
