Sayagaki: Sesshu Gassan Sadayoshi. 5 Kanji characters signature. The production date is Genji era. The 2nd generation of Gassan Sadakazu. It imitates the old sword Hosho. The blade is well made. The blade length is 9 Sun 6 Bu and half. Written by Tanzan(Kao)

Special feature: Sadayoshi is descended from Dewa Gassan, is a student of Suishinshi Masahide. He was named Yahachiro and lived in Osaka. He prefers to make Choji Hamon as in Sue Bizen.

Tsuba: Elliptical shape iron Tsuba with silver color.

From Aoi Art: According to Mr. Tanobe’s Sayagaki, this Tanto was made by the 2nd generation of Gassan Sadakazu due to the old age of Gassan Sadayoshi. This Jigane is Masame Hada. The texture and Hamon are so nice. It is a powerful and magnificent work, and includes a Chikei. He passed away in February Meiji 3(1870) at the age of 70. The Masame Hada Jigane is extremely difficult to produce, Mr. Tanobe judged that the 2nd generation Gassan Sadakazu made this Tanto.
