This piece is ranked as Jyo Saku among the works attributed to Mumei (Jumyo).
Habaki: Single-layered copper with black color
Blade Length: 28.8 cm (11.34 in)
Curvature: 0.2 cm (0.08 in)

Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.54 cm (1.00 in)
Thickness (Kasane): 0.55 cm (0.22 in)
Era: Early Edo period
Shape: Standard width and thickness, hira-zukuri tanto.
Jigane: Well-forged itame-hada with attached ji-nie.
Hamon: Ko-nie-deki, ko-gunome-midare, with the boshi rounded and returning.

Features:This tanto is attributed to Mumei, Jumyo.
It is said that many samurai of the time were superstitious, and there was a custom of presenting swords to those who had distinguished themselves in battle.
During the Edo period, it became customary to present swords as an important greeting among daimyo and samurai.
The name "Jumyo" (寿命, meaning "longevity") was considered auspicious, and such swords were often given to the elderly as a token of well-wishing for a long life.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Brass base with openwork carving of shells and a dog.
Fuchikashira: Shibuichi base with carved figures.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquered saya.
Menuki: Carving of figures and flowers.
Kozuka & Small Blade: Brass base with carvings of birds and waves, decorated with gold, silver, and shakudo inlay.

The name "Jumyo" is considered auspicious.
There are some areas with rust, but both the blade and koshirae can be enjoyed as a whole.
