We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This work is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among unsigned blades attributed to Ounin Nobukuni.

Most likely the late work of the first generation or early work of the second generation.
Shape:Suriage and machi-okuri work with a mitsu-mune.
The omote side is carved with a ken (sword) and bonji (Sanskrit character), along with three grooves.
The ura side has two grooves carved.
Jigane:Ko-itame hada, well-forged and refined.
Hamon:Nie-deki with slightly deep nioiguchi, forming a gunome-midare.The boshi turns back deeply.

Features: This piece embodies the typical appearance of a tanto.
However, it has been shortened (suriage) and has machi-okuri.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a well-shaped work attributed to Ounin Nobukuni.
It reflects the wide-bodied style characteristic of the Yamashiro school.
Swords from this era often feature carvings on the blade.
The Nobukuni line continued from the first to the fourth generation.
This piece is likely the work of the late first generation or the early second generation Nobukuni (Saeemon no Jo).
