This piece is ranked Jyo Saku for Shigehira's works.
Habaki: Gold-plated single-layered habaki.

Shape: A healthy blade with three ridges and two grooves carved on both sides, retaining the original sharp edge.
Jigane: Small itame hada, well-forged with refined steel.
Hamon: Nie-deki with a deep nioiguchi. The boshi is rounded and turns back.

Features: Shigehira was born in Showa 17 (1942) and worked as a swordsmith in Muikamachi, Uonuma District, Niigata Prefecture. This is a well-made piece.

Aoi Art's Comment: Shigehira was a disciple of Miyairi Yukihira (Living National Treasure) and won numerous awards, including Excellence and Effort Awards.
