This sword belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single Habaki
Blade length : 70 cm or 27.6 inches.
Sori : 2 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.19 cm or 1.26 inches.
Kasane : 0.77 cm or 0.303 inches.
Era : Late Edo period
Shape : This is a very long and wide Nagamaki.
Jigane : This is clear and very well grained Koitame-hada.
Hamon : Niedeki, Gunome-midare with Ashi, Boshi is pointed, Kaeri is very deep.

Special Feature : Sinanokoku Yamao, the eldest son of Yamaura Nobukaze, was born in 1804. His brother was one of the most famous swordsmiths Yamaura Kiyomayo.
He became an apprentice of Suishinshi Hideyo at 1828 and with his brother became an apprentice of Kamamura Toshinaga.

Koshirae : Made the end of Edo period. 200cm or 78.7 inches.

From Aoi Art : This fantastic Nagamaki was made by Masao, one of the notable smiths of Yamaura clan.
The Nagamaki displays clear and beautiful Jigane, Gunome-midare Hamon with long Ashi and deep and bright Nioikuchi, these characteristics are seen in his young brother’s swords also.
