Jigane: The ko-itame grain is well-forged, resulting in excellent steel quality.
Hamon: Ko-nie structure, with a deep nioikuchi, ashi working actively, creating a soft hamon. The boshi turns back gently and round.

Features: Izumo no Kami Fujiwara Yoshitake was the son of Horikawa Kunitake, and he was also known as Kawate Ichidaiyu. He moved from Kyoto to Edo. Initially, he bore the title "Izumo Daijo," and later he was promoted to "Izumo no Kami." Many of his works are robust. This particular ken is believed to have been used in a shrine or temple, making it a very valuable piece. The jigane is beautifully crafted, and the hamon shows a deep nioikuchi with a soft, elegant pattern. This is a highly recommended piece.

Aoi Art's Comment: Kens are different from swords and were mainly used in shrines and temples. They are often made with great care, and this one by Izumo no Kami Fujiwara Yoshitake is no exception. The jigane is excellent, and the hamon is soft, with gentle ashi activity. This is a rare piece that we strongly recommend.
