His older brother is Yamaura Kiyomaro. He passed away Meiji 7th(1874) May 18th, 71 years of age. He studied under Kawamura Toshitaka. But he is not satisfied with Bizen style and were aiming for even greater heights Soshu Den. Both brothers made active Soshu-den blade. His first name was Tennenshi Kanri. And he later changed his namde to Toshimasa, Masao, Saneo and Toshinaga. He changed his name with considerable frequency. His style was extremely similar as his younger brother.
