Suriage Machiokuri, All of the signature can be identified, and the cutting test remain firmly in place.
Jigane: The koitamehada is well grained. This is beautiful Hizen jigane, specifically a konuka hada.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha with Ko-Ashi and soft Nioikuchi.
Boshi is round shape.
Special feature :A remarkable work with a deep nie-based straight temper line
and soft Ashi, with a wide body width of 3.1 cm and a long blade, showing no flaws or imperfections.
Tsuba (Guard): Oval iron tsuba with cherry blossoms and family crest in gold-colored enamel.
Edge (Rim): Iron base with engraved lines and gold-colored enamel.
Kashira (Pommel): Iron base with flowers and gold-colored enamel.
Saya (Scabbard): Black lacquered scabbard.
Menuki (Ornamental Handle Grip): Person standing on a long rock with a bird, done in gold-colored enamel.
From Aoi Art: This is a work with a severance inscription by SekiHanzaemon Jyo, created on the 6th day of the 8th month in the 6th year of Enpo (approx. 1678). Swords with severance inscriptions are becoming rare and are treated as precious items. It may become even more challenging to acquire such pieces in the future, possibly leading to further appreciation in value.
Historical Background: Crafted during the Kanbun Era of the Edo Period, with the severance inscription added in the 6th year of the Enpo Era.
