Special feature: Yokoyama Sukekane is an adopted son of Yokoyama Sukemori and originally named as Shunkichi. Kagasuke Sukenaga’s Mei says “Tomonari 56 Dai Mago”(56th grandchild of Tomonari), but Sukekane is the 58th. Yokoyama Choji is supposed to be invented by Yokoyama Sukenaga. Many pupils traced this Hamon and the school preserved the unique works.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Oval iron Tsuba. Plum blossoms and crescent moon are engraved with silver color.
Fuchikashira: made of iron

From Aoi Art: Generally, most works by Yokoyama Sukekane are relatively small and they have beautiful Chojimidare. But this work is 74cm long and the blade is really broad: very rare. This kind of swords could have surprised people in the Edo period. Moreover, the blade has Ububa largely left: the blade is in a remarkably healthy condition.
