This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :gold wrapped single habaki.
Blade length : 71.2 cm or 28.03 inches.
Sori : 2.8 cm or 1.10 inches.
Width at the hamachi : 3.17cm or 1.24 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.01 cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.7 cm or 0.27 inches.
Weight of this sword: 750 grams.
Era : Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with deep sori
and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada and Mokume Hada.
The Jigane is blackish.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha, Notare-Ba
and Gunome Midare with Ko-Ashi and Yo.
In Ha, tehre are Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is round and pointed shape.
Special feature: Yasutsugu the 2nd generation, he was commonly called
as Ichinojo. He was a legitimate son of Yasutsugu the first.
His later years, he was also called as Koetsu.
He passed away Feb 25th, 1646.
The swords used with Nanbantetsu(imported iron) to make swords.
The Jigane is characteristic.
Saya : Dark brown Saya with dragon Makie.
Tsuba : Shakudo, dragon and wave are engraved with gold color.
Menuki : dragon is engraved eith gold color.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo Nanako, dragon is engraved with gold color.
From Aoi Art: He was employed by the Tokugawa Domain.
