Shape : The blade is wide and thick. it has a nice Sori and Kissaki.
Jigane : Clear Koitamehada grained well, almost looks like Muji.
Hamon : Koniedeki, Suguha mixed with small Gunome. It has many Ashi and Yo. Soft Nioikuchi. Fine Sunagashi and Kinsuji are seen as well.
Boshi : Round Midarekomi.
Special Feature : Yasunori was well known as one of the most skilled Yasukuni swordsmiths.
HIs citizen name was Kotani Kenzo, was born in Hiroshima pref 1909.
Showa 8th, he became a member of Nihonto Tanren Kai(lit Japanese sword forging association) at the Yasukuni Shirine, 2 years later, he started to sword making under the name of Yasunori.
By the end of the world war 2 he made about 1,600 swords including the special swords dedicated to the Shinto shrines.
He build the facility in his home in Showa 13th to made the swords for his relatives and friends. These swords made at his home have the signature of Takenori.
From Aoi Art : This sword looks like the one of Raiku Kuniyuki’s.
The sword is 68.4 cm in length, it’s quite rare for Yasukuni swords.
As the inscription suggests, the sword was possessed by Haga Yorojiro who worked as an army infantry captain at manturia and became the guardsman of the regimental commander later.
The sword was made for as a memory of Manchurian incident.
