This sword belongs to Jyo-Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki:Gold wrapped double habaki.
Blade length : 76cm or 30 inches.
Sori : 2.12cm or 0.835 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.0cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.99 cm or1.18 inches.
Kasane : 0.81cm or 0.32 inches.
Era : Edo period Bunkyu era.
Shape : The blade is long and wide and thick
with rather deep sori and engraved Bo-Hi on both sides of the blade.
Kissaki is rather longer kissaki.
Jigane :koitame had well grained with jinie attach and chikei work.
Hamon :Nioi deck cyouji midair Kogunome Midare mixed
with small ash scatter in Hamon. Boshi is rod shape.
Special feature: Tairyu sai Sokan was born near Ousyu sirakawa castle at Bunsei 1st year.
After that he studied under the Koyama Munetsugu.
He moved to Edo Hukagawa and made swords with his master.
From Aoi Bijyutsu:First He engraved his signature
by Kaisyotai(engraving way) But later on He changed to Reisyo tai.
The Hamon of this sword is Kanemitsu utsushi.
But generally Gunome midair with a row of round head shape
with Utsuri appear. Early stage he made swords like Koyama Munetsugu
but later on He changed his way like Kanemitsu
and a low of line up beautiful swords.
