Shape : Wide and thick, it has Bohi grooves on both sides, Sori is very big. this sword looks like the one from the middle Kamakura period.
Jigane : Itame-hada with Masame, Jinie attached well, beautiful grain pattern.
Hamon : Konie-deki, Choji-midare Hamon with active Ashi. Boshi is round with Midarekomi style.
Special Feature : Yoshihara Souji was born in 1945.
He learned from his grand father Kuniie the first generation and studied Bizen-den style with his elderly brother Yoshindo.
He awarded a lot of prizes and is designated Mukansa in1982, 6 years later making this sword.
Now he is designated as an important intangible cultural asset of Tokyo, It’s safe to say that he is the representative sword smith of Japan.
