From Aoi Art: After the great war in the Muromachi period, the Edo period gradually became a peaceful country, and the demand for Japanese swords declined sharply. Especially, the Tantos that were produced in large quantities were hardly produced at all, and the production of extremely Tanto s was so small that it was said to be rare. Therefore, it can be said that the works of tantos are very rare and valuable in the Edo period.
In the latter half of the Edo period, the production of tantos was revived and many swordsmiths began to produce them.
In the Edo period, the production of tantos by mysteriously famous swordsmiths decreased sharply, and the works on the market are rarely seen. It is a rare item, so if you have a swordsmith’s work from the Edo period, we recommend you to purchase it.
