Signature : Oite Osaka Izumi Kami Kunisada Saku Kore.

This sword belongs to Jojo saku ranking.

Sayagaki done by Tanobe sensei.
Explanation : Izumo Kami Kunisada first generation who lived Osaka
with long name (characters) made this sword which is his typical favourite subject.

The blade is polished.
Habaki :Gold wrapped and silver double Habaki.

Blade length : 71.6 cm or 28.2 inches.
Sori : 1.9 cm or 0.75 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 3.12cm or 1.23 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.18 cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.30 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era. (1661~)
Shape : The blade is rather longer and suitable sori with longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained with Jinie attach beautiful fine texture.
Hamon : Niedeki Gunome Midare with thick Nioikuchi. Boshi turns round shape.
Special feature : This is a fine work of Izumi (No) Kami Kunisada the first generation.
He is known as the father of a famous swordsmith Inoue Shinkai.
Usually this Kunisada is called Oya-Kunisada. Oya means parent in Japanese.
Kunisada the First was born in 1590 in Hyuga province, present Miyazaki pref.
He became a pupil of Horikawa Kunihiro at Kyoto. Kunisada went to Osaka and trained many excellent pupils.
It has been an accepted opinion that he was the founder of Osaka-Shinto.
Kunisada was approved as the Izumi (No) Kami in 1623.
He passed away in 1652.
Kunisada forged this one around Kan-ei era that was the most active
and substantial period in his life. Another piece forged in the same period approved
a Juyo-Bijutsu, an important art object.

Koshirae :
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Tsuba : On the brass round Tsuba, a dragon and clouds are engraved.
Menuki : Dragon is carved on copper plate.
Fuchikashira : Dragon and clouds are engraved by Shakudo plate.
