Showa 18 Nen 3 Gatsu Kichijitsu(1943), celebration on assumption of office
as the Naha mayor, Komai Shinichi.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper single
Blade length : 66.3 cm or 26.10 inches.
Sori : 1.3 cm or 0.51 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.9 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.95 cm or 0.76 inches.
Kasane : 0.77 cm or 0.30 inches.
Era : During the war.
Shape : Regular size blade.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach. Muji-Fu.
Hamon : Ko-Nie Deki, Ko Gunome Miadre and Ko Choji Midare
with thick Nioikuchi. There are Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
The Boshi is aroud shape.

Special feature:Kuniie was born in 1893 in Ibaraki pref. He entered to
the Nihon-to Tanren Denshu Sho in 1932 established by Kurihara
Hikosaburo Nobuhide. Kuniie was in Kasama Shigetsugu’s clan.
In 1938, Kuniie started to work as a master swordsmith of Jumei-tosho
at Itabashi Zohe-sho, a plant for supplying arms to army during wartime in Itabashi-Ku, Tokyo. Kuniie was very good at the Soden-Bizen style.
He passed away in 1970. His grandchildren, Kuniie and Yoshindo are
also famous contemporary swordsmiths.

Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba, family crest with open work.
Menuki : Shakudo, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo, Samurai is engraved with gold color.
