This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :Gold wrapped single habaki.
Blade length : 69.2 cm or 27.24inches.
Sori :1.8cm or 0.71inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.71cm or 1.07 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.84 cm or 0.724 inches.
Kasane : 0.61cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Early to middle Muromachi era.
Shape : The blade is regular size with deep sori
and small kissaki elegant shape.
On the Ji, engraved Kenmaki ryu(a dragon is swollowing a Ken)
Jigane :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach
and small chikei work like Mochi Hada.
Hamon :This blade’s hamon is round shape small gunome midare
which looks like Yoshi bizen school.
Special feature: From the Jigane and Hamon, the blade looks Mino Senjyuin.
This school started from Nanbokucyo period to late Muromachi period.
Many years ago, sword makers in Nara, moved to Mino province
and made swords mixed up with Mino school and Senjyuin style.
We think that the blade was made around early to middle Muromachi period.
Saya :On the black isimeji, painted some plant.
Tsuba :Black iron tsuba.
Menuki : On the syakudo plate, fish with samurai are engraved.
Fuchikashira:on the syakudo plate,
kiku family crests are engraved with gold color.
From Aoi-Art:Mino Senjuin started from Nanbokucyo period to late Muromachi period. This sword was made around early
to middle Muromachi period. The sword is elegant shape
like Bizen Yosii and also nice Koshirae.
