Shape and Jiha the characteristics of the Ko Aoe school
There is old elegance in total. The blade was made around early Kamakura period.
Hakiomote side Shinogi Zukuri, back side Hira Zukuri.
This structure is rare not only in the same shcool but also in other schools. 
It is also valuable as data. Chichin Chocho.
Blade length is 2shaku 4sun 4bu.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyo-jyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Saijo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 74.0 cm or 29.13 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 2.81 cm or 1.10 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.9 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
The weight of the sword 615 grams.
Era : Late Heian period to early Kamakura period.
Shape : Osuriage Mumei Katana. Omote side is Shinogi Zukuri.
Ura side is Hirauchi Zukuri. It is a very rare and valuable sword.
Jigane : Itame hada and Mokume Hada mixed with Jinie attach.
There are Chikei and Utsuri.
The Jigane is typical Aoe’s beautiful Chirimen Hada.
Shinogi-ji: Ko Itame and Mokume hada mixed with fine Masa.
Hamon : Nie Deki, thick Nioikuchi with many Ashi and Yo.
In the Ha, there are many Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is round shape.

Special feature: From the end od the Hein period to the beginning of the Kamakura period is called Ko Aoe.
The style is similar to the neighboring province’s Ko Bizen.
The Jigane is a unique and powerful charm. It is very rare for the Ubu Nakago.
And Omote side is Shinogi Zukuri. Ura side is Hira Zukuri. 
Mr. Tanobe has also pointed out. We have never seen this king of the blade
in the late Heian period. It is an extremely rare item.

Saya :Blrack Roiro Saya.
Tsuba : Mokko shape iron Tsuba with Amida Yasuri pattern.
Menuki : Shakudo Nanako, chrysanthemum is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo Nanako, chrysanthemum is engraved with gold color.

From Aoi Art: Itame Hada and Mokume Hada mixed with Jinie attach. 
There are Chikei and Utsuri appear.
In the Hamon, there are many Ashi and Yo. The Nioikuchi is soft.
The highlights of Ko Aooe are revealed. As for the Hamon, it is the same as Ko Bizen.
